Daphny Grace M. Peneza, MSN, RN, CNOR, CSSM is an Education Resource Specialist III at Memorial Hermann Hospital - Texas Medical Center Perioperative Services. She completed her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Nursing at Ateneo de Davao University in the Philippines.
Daphny was honored in 2018 with a Promising Professional Achievement Award by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), Outstanding Filipino Nurse by the Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan Houston, and Nurse Excellence Pillar Award (Nurse Innovator) by Memorial Hermann Hospital. She received another national award this year for Excellence in Neuroscience Education from the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) and was recently named as one of the Top 150 Nurses of Houston for 2021.
Daphny’s stellar presidential term helped AORN of Greater Houston attain the 5 Star Chapter Level and Chapter of Excellence (Large Category) for 2021. She is also involved in AORN as Clinical Nurse Educator’s Specialty Assembly Chair, Global Surgical Conference Education Committee member, AORN Journal’s News Advisory Group, and Texas State Council’s Legislative Committee.
Other professional involvements include being an active member of the Certification Council of Competency and Credentialing Institute, Leadership and Development Committee of American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, and Marketing Committee of Philippine Nurses Association of America.
Her collaborative, educational, and innovative ventures include serving as Project Head of Memorial Hermann Hospital’s Covid – 19 PPE Task Force, Lead Author for the Perioperative Chapter of the Core Curriculum for Neuroscience Nursing, and Contributor to the Neuroscience Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
As a dedicated lifelong learner and an advocate of excellence in nursing education, she finds joy in sharing her passion internationally on perioperative care, neuroscience practice, transcultural nursing, creative education, and professional development.
