The world of Day Surgery is one of the most rapidly changing facets of health care in the 21st Century. With an ever-increasing demand for elective surgical procedures enabling patients to be discharged on the same day, the nature of preoperative and postoperative care is growing. As the scope of available surgeries expands, so has the demand for skilled nursing staff to keep pace with the shifting nature of roles, techniques and interventions in the day surgery environment.
The DSNA offers the GLENYS CHAPMAN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP to support members towards the cost of ongoing education. This exciting opportunity for up-skilling and accumulating CPD hours will be awarded for any accredited day surgery relevant courses, workshops, research studies or conferences attended.
General Rules For Scholarships:
- Applicants are eligible to apply for a scholarship after completion of TWO (2) years continuous membership.
- Applicants will not be eligible for a scholarship if they have received a DSNA scholarship within the previous THREE (3) years.
- The amount of scholarship funds awarded will be determined by the Executive Committee.
- Scholarship funds will be paid in Australian dollars (AU$).
- All successful applicants must undertake to provide the Association with a written report suitable for publishing, or other presentation as determined by the Executive Committee, within SIX (6) weeks.
- In the event of any reason preventing the fulfilment of the terms of the scholarship, all moneys shall be returned to DSNA.
